River City Chorus is an Exeter based A Cappella group formed in 1992. We currently have about 25 members who come from all walks of life and who travel to sing with us from all parts of Devon and Somerset and new members are always welcome. We are a friendly and welcoming group and have a lot of fun but with a strong commitment to improving our performance.
Within the chorus, we are focussed on the quality of our singing and performance in order to entertain our audiences and get the most enjoyment out of our singing together. To do this we go through each new song to agree the story behind it so that we are all singing it with the same emotion and focus; this can make our performances come to life and create very moving experiences.We sing a wide variety of songs, ranging from the romantic to easy beat and up tempo - spanning all the decades including songs by Queen, Lady Gaga and Megan Trainor.
We are members of LABBS - the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers. This gives us lots of opportunites to meet up with other choruses, to learn, perform, and sometimes compete. This year we're looking forward to joining several other choruses in the South West. It is always great fun to meet with other singers and get the chance to sing in harmony with a massive number of other like-minded people.
